Änglalik's music is rooted in black metal's exploration of darkness and death. On a metaphysical level, the music functions as a portal — a tool for transcending the everyday. The darkness creates a contrast that opens the mind to lighter spheres: the atmospheric, melodic and otherworldly. The band was founded during the pandemic year of 2021 by David Granström (guitar) and Maria W Horn (synth, vocals). As a duo, Änglalik released their first EP Stoft (14 May 2026), and have since been joined by Fanny Rapp (drums, vocals) and Mikael Broman (bass, vocals).
